The Waldstätterweg leads in seven stages almost all the way around Lake Lucerne. Over around 115 kilometres, it connects nature, lakeshores, historic places, villages, the city of Lucerne, and spectacular views. This is the landscape where Switzerland – and later Swiss tourism – was born.

In 1991, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation, the cantons gave the people of Switzerland the Weg der Schweiz. It is a 35-kilometre panoramic trail that circles the southernmost arm of Lake Lucerne, Lake Uri. It invites you to walk through history, opens the doors to unspoiled nature, and encourages you to reflect on yourself.

The newly redesigned adventure tunnel is located on Stage 2 of the Path of Switzerland, between Isleten and Bauen. Along the way, you’ll encounter various interactive displays, beautiful views of Lake Uri, and cozy spots to relax.

Discover the “Cradle of Switzerland” aboard the Treno Gottardo and enjoy a varied day trip to Lake Uri. Along the “Path of Switzerland,” you’ll encounter beautiful views, historic sites, and the newly redesigned Harderband Adventure Tunnel between Isleten and Bauen, which brings the journey to life through a variety of interactive displays. The package includes round-trip travel on the Treno Gottardo, a boat ride on Lake Uri, as well as delightful extras and recreational activities.

In the birthplace of Switzerland, one sight follows another. To mark the occasion, a photo spot has been on display since June 2022 to showcase the best views. And thanks to a notch in the photo spot, you can also take the best selfie.
