To mark the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation in 1991, the cantons gave the Swiss people the Swiss Path.

The stages

You can combine the hiking sections as you wish. From each location, a boat, bus or train will take you to another point along the route, making the hike a fun excursion.

Pedestrian tunnel

New: Harderband adventure tunnel

The new Harderband adventure tunnel between Isleten and Bauen turns a section of the Swiss Path into an impressive experience. Light installations, artistic graffiti, illuminated panels and interactive cantonal coats of arms stage Swiss history over around 300 meters - exciting, surprising and perfectly accessible on foot or by boat.

«The Swiss Path»-Portals

Since June 2023, Cristallina marble portals have been in place at all entry and exit points along the Swiss Path. The design of the portals is based on the Schiller Stone, they also serve as a selfie motif and were enabled by the Dätwyler Foundation.
