The Rütli is taking off in 2023 - in the truest sense of the word. Switzerland's cradle of adventure is one of the winners of the competition to mark SWISS's 20th anniversary and was able to christen an Airbus A220 with the name ‘Rütli’.

Heidi Z'graggen is the godmother of the aeroplane. The Councillor of States for the canton of Uri is also on the advisory board of the Cradle of Switzerland and will not miss the opportunity to celebrate a small naming ceremony on the Rütli. She says with honour: ‘It fills me with pride to see how the name Rütli, which stands for the fundamental values of Switzerland such as democracy, freedom, the rule of law and a sense of community, is now being carried out into the world on the wings of an aeroplane.’

The Cradle of Switzerland adventure region submitted a creative application video to the competition. An aeroplane with the logo of the Cradle of Switzerland on the tail fin flies along the Swiss Path and shows the wonderful viewpoints en route. As the centrepiece of the Cradle of Switzerland, the Rütli embodies Switzerland with all its myths and legends like no other place.
